So I have been experimenting... Trying to get the perfect look it pretty difficult because there are so many elements that you, as an individual, need to consider. Whether that is you have oily skin, dry, eczema, acne, combination skin or pigmentation.
For myself I have dry skin, including small patches of eczema around my nose, so my problem is having a foundation that will last, around those places, without caking up, or looking awful towards the end of the day. Price obviously has to be in consideration, so the products have to be of high quality without costing an absolute fortune, which is possible but difficult. And finally other products to blend with each other, if you have a cheap contour palette and a very high end foundation... it's just not going to work!
Over the years higher end foundation have become better to adapt to all types of skin types, however there will be a better one for you.
Oily Skin
The foundation you will need to keep an eye out for if you have oily skin is a matte one, I have done a lot of research into the three best ones, at a range of prices.
-Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless Liquid Foundation. This foundation is designed for oily skin and is an incredible price of only £6.99 from Boots.
-Tarte Amazonian Clay Full coverage Foundation. The problem with matte foundations are that they usually quite heavy, however this one is perfect if you only want good coverage with a natural feel. This foundation costing the most, at £35.
-Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longer Foundation. The new jaw dropping makeup from RhiRhi. This is a perfect matte finish and looks lush, including 41 different shades and only costing £26.
Dry Skin
this foundations will be easier to find, this will be because they don't have to be very specific, they just have to suit your skin, however the more natural and less chemicals put into one foundation the better it will be for your dry skin.
-Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel foundation. This is probably the best drugstore foundation I have ever used, this is packed with vitamins and so helps with dryness and fatigue. Only costing £10.99
Combination Skin
This is probably one of the hardest types of skin to find a good foundation for, you're not completely oily and not completely dry, you have a mix of both in different ares etc. The best foundations for this type are:
-L’Oréal True Match Foundation. This again, is an extremely good drugstore foundation, this is a matte foundation and so if you have more dry skin than oily, this may not be the one for you, or doubting that, just try to not finish off the look with powder, this being a matter foundation anyway. This costs £9.99
-Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place. This is an overall fantastic foundation, it won't dry your skin out, but has another pigment to cover blemishes, as well as have a nice natural finish too, obviously depending on how much you use. £31
-Yves Saint Laurent Touche Ḗclat. This is a full coverage foundation so is good if you don't have picture perfect skin. This is also a long lasting wear foundation and most of the reviews insist that you do not use powder to set this for an everyday look, in case of drying out skin. £30.
