Malone..Bugsy Malone

As you can tell, by the bad uploading of our blogs; we have been busy helping the East Point Academy's 2017 Cast of Bugsy Malone. It has been one heck of a week but a fantastic one too. Helping with costumes, hair and makeup we enjoyed spending every moment with the cast and watching the High School production take place. Auditions taking place in September, we spent the fabulous six months watching the 1920's style musical form, helping at every given point. We started by working on a 20's makeup and hair mood bored.

We decided to go for a smokey eye on the Flapper girls and Talulah with Glitter on the lid (we jazzed up the colour of the glitter each night depending on how jazzy we were feeling) all girls had red lips to contrast with their purple flapper dresses. My favrouite look through out the whole cast was defiantly Dandy Dans Gang; in charge of the splurge guns, they had smart suites with red ties, matching lips and slick back hair.This made Dandy Dans scenes when they would tie in with his colour scheme, Red, as their boss wore all red silk. It looked amazingggg!

Talking about slick back hair, all male characters wore slick back middle parting, which just made,completely, the 1920's look!

The Grand Slams Main dancers looked amazing on stage, with hair braided and pinned, done by Courtney, with matching head dresses. We used Tarte andUrban Decay to create the smokey eye and a gel liner smoked out, as well as, using GlitterEyes Talulah glitter all over lid to correspond with the gold and black on her dress. We jazzed up which colour sparkle to use each night usually with a hint of gold to stand out when the lights hit her on stage.

Overall East Point Academy put on an amazing production of Bugsy Malone getting amazing reviews and even a singer/song writer scout the cast for her music video. The set, Costume and Drama department, Langley band, Makeup and hair and most importantly the cast put their heart and soul into every nights performance and made it fantastic!
