Beat the January blues by following this 15 day detox for your skin, hair and body recommended from the input of all the Glamr Girlies! We have put together a 15 day guide on how to treat your body and mind towards the end of January. All these tips and tricks will help you recover from the Christmas period and from the dull start to 2017. These will not only help your new years resolutions but help prevent illness, horrible skin, dehydration and more!

Day one:

Treating yourself to a harsh body and face scrub helps rejuventae your skin, whilst removing dead skin cells. Exfoliating is defiantly a task you should commit to as this is probably one of the most important steps of a face/body routine. without regular exfoliation, you can end up with clogged pores which can lead to lack of moisture deep in the layers of your skin. So make sure once you have ran a boiling bubble bath to use either of the recommended products to roughly exfoliate that dead layer of skin from last year! It's also nice to steam your face and then splash a glimpse of cold water, this is to help your pores minimise.

Day Two:

Hot water, honey and lemon is amazinggggg for the health, says experts. There are many benefits of making sure, at least twice a month one of which is that it gives your immune system a fantastic boost making you automatically feel healthier and cleaner. It's also known for helping you lose weight and keeping your skin blemish-free. not only does it give you energy boots, which is great in the morning, it freshens your breath too. All you have to do for this simple life saver is to boil some water, place a lemon and two spoonfuls of honey (Manuka honey, is the best) and voilia you're fini! So make sure to try this lush hot water remedy out!

Day Three:

Moroccan Oil is a recommended brand my many. Basically all of their products are perfect for a rejuvenation day. The restorative hair mask is perfect for day three as it is proven to be instant repair for the hair. Deeply restortive formulae is rich in argon oil, Shea butter and reparative proteins. So relax in a hot bath with a Garnier skin active, moisture bomb tissue mask.

Day Four:

Cleaning your makeup brushes is surprisingly satisfying and helps cleanse your mind, also it helps a lot with bad skin this is because, when applying makeup, it picks up bacteria from your face and then during the wait to next apply your makeup, the bacteria will fester. So when you next use the brushes on you face the old bacteria is now also on your skin an it's just a cycle.

Day Five:

Day five is rethink your

primer; we have an amazing recommendation, which is the Charlotte Tilbury Wonderglow Primer. this is because it gives plenty of radiance to the skin before and after applying makeup, so it's perfect for everything and not only can you use it as a primer you can use it as a lush creme highlighter.

Day Six:

Day six is a simple but effective top tip! Start your day off normal, have a shower, a bath a hot face wash, then grab a clean flannel and use ice cubes in this to rub on your face to close and minimise pores. This helps prevent spots, especially black heads, because they are caused by dirt in pores and once your pores are closed up it is nearly impossible for the dirt to get in.

Day Seven:

lips can get a little rough, dry and sore during the cold winter months. using lib balm can sometimes result in not helping at all! However, using a sugar lip scrub has been proven to help near 50% more! And what's better than to make your own To this this you simply need :

- White granulated sugar

- Honey or olive oil

Optional:

- Food flavouring

- Food colouring

Day Eight:

On day eight, after completing all the before skin care tips! Using a deep cleansing system is great! And it's even better when you can use it from home! These products are slowly becoming much more popular, you can now purchase them in drugstores, such as boots! But the Crystal Clear Ionic Sonic cleaning brush has to be our favourite. Simply, use your daily, usual foam cleanser and place two - three drops on the brush and start cleansing as well as a soft exfoliate across the face and body. Gradually start incorporating this into your skin care routine one to two times a week!

Day Nine:

On day nine, simply have the bath of your lifetime! Make sure It's lovely and hot to cleanse all dirt off your skin and to steam your face to help pores! Baths are so nice anyways, but treating yourself by using a Miss Patisserie bath ball, a glass of wine and some candles makes life seem as good as it could get

Day Ten:

Do these days get easier? The answer to that is, YES! this is because using too much, or doing too much to your skin can actually make it worse! Funny, right? On day ten, please just give your skin a break from makeup, this is honestly for the best for everyone ! This helps basically everything, It also feels super good and free

Day Eleven:

Using moisturising cream is great anyways, but massaging your face for an extra five minutes is even better! So make sure you commit to day eleven.

Day Twelve:

Treat yourself even more to a pedicure! Having a pedicure basally makes your life so much better and lighter. If you're someone who is on their feet more than often, a pedicure is a lovely relaxing way to spend your time at a salon. GLAMR do lovely coconut ones!

Day Thirteen:

Making your own healthy food is great for the new year diet as well as your skin, health and immune system. So take your time to make yourself either a butternut squash and sweet potato soup or fruit smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups broth (we usually make our own chicken broth, but you can also use vegetable broth)

  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped (1 small onion)

  • 3 tablespoons of butter, for sautéing

  • 2 1/2 cups of butternut squash, peeled and cubed (1 medium butternut squash)

  • 2/3 cup sweet potato, peeled and cubed (1 medium sweet potato)

  • 1 1/2 cups apple cider

  • Salt and pepper

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter in stock pot.

  2. Add onion, and sauté until soft.

  3. Add broth, butternut squash, sweet potato, and apple cider to pot, and bring to a boil.

  4. Lower to heat to a simmer, and cook until squash and sweet potato are soft.

  5. Puree with blender.

  6. Season with salt and pepper.

Recipe Type: Soup

Notes

This recipe can easily be adapted to be vegetarian by using vegetable broth, or vegan by using an olive oil or another light oil as an alternative to butter.

Day fourteen:

Everyone knows drinking water is the most healthiest option, helping pretty much everything in your body and exterior too. It is said that not enough people drink enough water to maintain heathy, so try and challenge yourself to drinking water for a whole day at least once a week. If your looking for healthy, radiant, clear skin then this is definitely the trick for you! if you're looking for a healthy inside then this is the trick for you! basically water solves all life problems!

Day Fifteen:

And last but not least treat yourself to another in salon treatment. An indian head massage is great for thinking and clearing the mind as well as relaxing every single muscle in your body. So pop into GLAMR to experience this amazing experience.
